We operate nationally through a team of Regional Directors and Associates reporting to a small head office team. This means genuine one-to-one contact and very personal client service.
Mercantile usually assists with one-off corporate change – the purchase or sale of a business; rapid expansion; an MBO or management restructuring - of the type that might not be familiar to most people in their daily business life.

However, we recognise that each client is unique and the challenges presented are dealt with accordingly, with a combination of sensitivity and concise, practical activity. Help for smaller businesses We’ve discovered when talking to our clients that many of them put our services in a box marked ‘FUNDING’. While we provide excellent advice and significant funding solutions, this is only one part of the wide range of skills we use to support businesses engaged in a variety of change and growth activities. As The Mercantile Group becomes better known through referrals and recommendations from satisfied clients, our unique Appraisal/Retention model is increasingly used to assess needs prior to planning and the implementation of a range of business solutions and funding. However, potential clients increasingly ask us to provide a wider range of support services. This is why we have formalised two of these services to allow clients greater flexibility in seeking more immediate solutions to corporate problems. SME 5000 For fees of £5000 or less, a business with annual turnover of under £1m can expect assistance to find new funding up to £150,000 and support to resolve defined issues that have a specific brief and anticipated outcome. Consultancy For larger businesses seeking specific services or new funding up to £250,000 but who do not need a full appraisal we offer a nominal retainer + day rate payable monthly in arrears or on completion of the project. Any larger funding requirements usually need Appraisal, but we hope these additional services will benefit businesses with simpler needs. This means that we can now not only help a wider range of clients but that we can also maintain an on-going relationship with the businesses that we’ve helped to develop as they continue to even greater levels of success.
